Soil CRC in New Zealand for Soils conference

Soil CRC researchers are heading to Rotorua, New Zealand, in the first week of December for Soils Rotorua 2024 – the quadrennial joint conference of the New Zealand Society of Soil Science and Soil Science Australia. This year’s theme is ‘Weaving soil science across cultures and environments’.

Soil CRC researchers feature throughout the conference program, with presentations by Dr Marcus Hardie (University of Tasmania), Dr Nathan Robinson (Federation University), Associate Professor Peter Dahlhaus (Federation University), Professor Catherine Allan (Charles Sturt University), Dr Nicholas Pawsey (Charles Sturt University), and Dr Chloe Lai (University of Southern Queensland).

The Soil CRC PhD student cohort will be well represented at the conference, with abstracts by Arif Rahman (Federation University), Sadia Sabrin Nodi (Charles Sturt University), Dristi Datta (Charles Sturt University), Peter Weir (Federation University). Stephen Lang (University of Adelaide), and Chenting Jiang (University of Tasmania) have all been accepted for oral presentations. Other students will be presenting posters of their work.

Also speaking at the event are Soil CRC and Soil Science Australia Patron The Honourable Penelope Wensley AC, and Soil CRC researcher Laureate Professor Ravi Naidu (University of Newcastle and crcCARE).
