| Posted Jun 05,2023

For the first time in its history, Soil Science Australia is holding its biennial national conference in the Northern Territory, with the theme ‘Our Soil: Spirit of a Nation’. The conference takes place in Darwin from 25 to 30 June and provides a great opportunity for delegates to hear from a variety of soil experts and experience Australia’s unique Top End.

Keynote speakers include Soil CRC Patron and National Soils Advocate The Honourable Penelope Wensley AC, Soil CRC CEO Dr Michael Crawford, and ABC’s Gardening Australia host Costa Georgiadis, who will speak at the conference dinner.

Soil CRC researchers feature throughout the conference program, with presentations from Ehsan Tavakkoli, Lukas Van Zwieten, Richard Bell, Nathan Robinson, Peter Dahlhaus, Nicholas Pawsey, Mick Rose, Andrew MacLeod, Richard Culas, Xiangyu Liu, Marcus Hardie, Ying Cheng, Qing Maxine Wei and Jia Xu.

Soil CRC PhD students Win Win Pyone, Suman Gajurel and Prasanthi Sooriyakumar will share their research insights through oral presentations and Chenting Jiang, Phil Kay, Rahat Shabir, Sundus Saeed Qureshi and Maria Then will present posters.

As a silver sponsor, the Soil CRC will host the welcome reception on Sunday night and will have a booth at the exhibition. If you are heading to the conference, pop over to our exhibition booth to meet some of our researchers, students, program leaders and staff and find out more about our work.

We look forward to seeing you in Darwin.
