Soil CRC CEO Dr Michael Crawford was a Guest of Honour and International Speaker at an International Conference on Decarbonizing Agriculture in Mangalore, India, last month, where he shared Australia’s experiences with soil carbon sequestration.

“The conference was a wonderful opportunity to hear about India’s aspirations and pathways to decarbonizing agriculture, and for me to highlight Australia’s soil carbon sequestration success stories and showcase the work of the Soil CRC,” Dr Crawford said.

He spoke about the critical role soil carbon plays in enhancing agricultural sustainability and combating climate change, while emphasising the synergy between scientific research and practical farming techniques.

“There was much interest in the cooperative research model of the Soil CRC and in the research that we are doing to improve soil health and soil organic matter,” Dr Crawford said.

“The conference highlighted the importance of global collaboration in tackling climate change through agriculture and sharing knowledge to drive real change.”
