Charles Sturt University and Soil CRC – collaboration makes for better research outputs

| Posted Nov 11,2022

Professor Michael Friend, Pro Vice Chancellor at Charles Sturt University, explains that collaborating with cooperative research centres not only builds the capabilities of university researchers, but also grows their networks.

The Soil CRC provides a national network for universities and their researchers to tap into. This encourages collaboration across different disciplines, in turn generating national responses to Australia-wide agricultural challenges – rather than siloed approaches.

For Charles Sturt, Soil CRC is a natural fit due to the university’s long history, and strength in, agricultural research and soil science.

Michael believes that multi and trans-disciplinary approaches are not only the right approach for Australia, but also the strongest way to tackle global issues such as climate change.
